Entry 4. 10/17/10 What really hard thing is happening in my independent reading book.

I am reading the book, Warriors: Eclipse. It's about cats in a clan and three of them, Jaypaw, Hollypaw and Lionpaw, have physical power. No other cat in the clan knows about their power yet so throughout the book, they discuss how they feel and things like that. Something that I discovered, like a really deep theme in this book was, being afraid of being judged, because you're different. When  you read the book, it's not so obvious. But Hollypaw is always worrying about what other cats will think of her if the three cats ever tell anyone that they are way more powerful than them. She's always arguing against the idea of releasing the truth. But not because of what other cats will go insane, but because she's afraid they'll trow her out of the clan, and she'll have to become an outcast. She's afraid that every cat that knows will fear her so much, they'll refuse to get near her, and she doesn't want that. But I have read the book a couple of times and that never really caught my eye. So they have to keep it a secret from all of the other cats, because Jaypaw and Lionpaw agree with her, just not in that sort of level. So that's what's happening in my independent reading book.
